Your Role in Emergency Management

Personal and Family Preparedness

In the event of a disaster, you should plan to be self-sufficient for at least the first 72 hours.  Are you?

Disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods and storms can strike at any time, sometimes without warning. All disasters have the potential to cause disruption, damage property and take lives. So it is vital that you prepare now to protect yourself, your family, home, business and community.

Whats the Plan Stan

"Whats the Plan Stan" promotes emergency prepareness in primary and intermediate schools by providing teachers and students with the knowledge and skill to act in a safe manner when a disaster occurs.

Business Continuity Planning

Planning for emergencies is a sensible precaution.  If a disaster occurred would your bussiness survive.  Go to the following link to the Ministry of Civil Defence Website to start planning.

Community Response Plans

Northland Communities are isolated during weather events and other Emergency Disasters.

Communites are the first to respond to a disaster until outside help arrives.  Communities should have a plan to respond if required.
